You asked for it, so now you can set GU panels like you see in the
background of the 2/7/01 strip as your desktop wallpaper. There are two
versions REGULAR and
UNLEADED. I personally
think UNLEADED is
easier to use. The colors are not as intense. To use them check out the
instructions below.
On a further note, I'll be releasing some standardized images for use as sig pics
sometime within the next week or so. Email me
to let me know which race/class you'd like to see.
INSTRUCTIONS: (Windows only)
- Click the link to visit the image you'd like to use:
REGULAR or
UNLEADED
- Right click the image, then click "Set as Wallpaper"
- Go to "My Computer", Open the "Control Panel". Click "Display".
- Click the "Background" Tab, and set Display: to Tile.
From here you might want to go to the "Appearance" Tab and change some
of your item colors. You'll probably want to establish a pretty dark color
pallet to constrast with the light-colored, tiled, panels. When I get a
few extra moments, I'll put together a .theme file that'll do all this
stuff for you.
Macintosh Users: (Thanks Kraig!!)
Download the picture to a location that you can remember. Go to the apple
in the upper left corner of the monitor, click, go down to control panels,
click "Appearance". Next, click the "Desktop" tab in the open window, and
click "Place Picture" from there, browse to locate the picture file and
click "Set Desktop".
The tiling is controlled by an option on the same panel as the one in which
"place picture" and "set desktop" are located. The available options are...
tile on screen, center on screen, scale to screen, and fill screen. So, the
position and behavior and up to the user.
Thanks Kraig Solomon for the Mac Instructions!
Other Wallpapers:
I only have one other wallpaper (sample to the right). I have it for 800x600
and 1024x768 resolutions. You can get them both in the fhe following Zip file.
come_down.zip (216K)
Both images are .BMP files. You should extract them to an easy to find location.
Once you extract them:
- Go to "My Computer", "Control Panel", "Display".
- Click the "Background" Tab, Click the "Browse" button and locate the extracted
BMP files. The 800x600 resolution is called come_down800.bmp and the 1024x768 one
is called come_down1024B.bmp.
- Select the proper BMP for your resolution and click "Open". The file will then
appear in your Wallpaper list.Select it, set "Disply:" to "center", and click
"Apply".
AGAIN, you might want to go to "Appearances" and change your item colors. I use
"Windows Standard" with the Destop color set to Black.
